In fact anytime I press those keys they do not respond to the software or any other software in Ableton. I have also noticed this same issue with the Pitch Bend wheel, all the faders, all the drum pads and all the pots. Open testing the full functionality of the keyboard, I have noticed that the keys A#1, B1, C2 C#2, A4 (which has somehow become the undo button) and C5 (which is adding locator points at selected locations) are not working with Analog Lab 3 or any other VST in Ableton Live. If you have no need of keyboard accessibility assistance, disable all the other keyboard-related Accessibility settings as well because all of them have keyboard-based enabling shortcuts that you're bound to run into accidentally at some point.Just had a few technical issues with my new MIDI keyboard. If Sticky Keys is on, you should find that you can get a CTRL-based keyboard shortcut to work by pressing and then releasing either CTRL key, then pressing the key you'd otherwise be pressing with the CTRL key.Īnd if that's what it is, you can permanently disable Sticky Keys so it won't accidentally turn itself on again using the Accessibility section of Settings.
I'm thinking possibly Sticky Keys? It has a totally infuriating Shift key based shortcut that I'm convinced gets activated accidentally at least ten times as often as deliberately. So it's far more likely that we're looking at some "helpful" Windows behaviour, probably accessibility-related, that's been turned on by accident. I can think of no single hardware failure that would take out just the two CTRL keys and leave all the others working. Left and right CTRL keys each generate their own key-up and key-down sequences for low-level keyboard driver software to process (if this were not the case, VirtualBox in particular would not be able to use the right CTRL key and the right CTRL key only as its default Host key).
